Kelly Clarkson called fat by ‘Most Hated Woman in Britain,’ replies: “I’m awesome!”

The multi-platinum recording artist, whose new album “Piece by Piece” dropped Tuesday, was the target of a nasty series of tweets from British TV personality Katie Hopkins after being featured on the Graham Norton Show.

“Jesus, what happened to Kelly Clarkson? Did she eat all of her backing singers? Happily I have wide-screen. #grahamnorton,” Hopkins tweeted.

Clarkson’s fans were understandably displeased by the rude remarks and Hopkins addressed them again this week, replying, “Look chubsters, Kelly Clarkson had a baby a year ago. That is no longer baby weight. That is carrot cake weight. Get over yourselves.”

And Hopkins wasn’t finished, going so far as to call out Clarkson’s 8-month-old daughter River Rose under the guise of concern for her health. “Every fat child has a fat parent. And that’s—for me—why Kelly Clarkson is an important example. She needs to allow her daughter to grow up knowing that it’s not great to be fat. It’s much better to be healthier.”

Clarkson, who likely has much better things to do than follow Hopkins on Twitter, was unaware of the bullying comments. “She’s tweeted something nasty about me?” she asked after Heat magazine brought up the brouhaha.

Once she was made aware of what Hopkins had to say, the three-time Grammy winner replied, “That’s because she doesn’t know me. I’m awesome! It doesn’t bother me. It’s a free world. Say what you will. I’ve just never cared what people think. It’s more if I’m happy and I’m confident and feeling good, that’s always been my thing. And more so now, since having a family—I don’t seek out any other acceptance.”

Hopkins is entitled to her opinion, but young River clearly has a great role model in her mom.
