Ex-HP CEO takes off the gloves, slams Hillary Clinton at conservative conference

A group that supports Clinton shot back that Carly Fiorina "only wishes she had Hillary's long list of accomplishments."

The former chief executive officer of Hewlett-Packard has ramped up attacks on 2016 Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton, slamming her during a recent appearance at the first day of the Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC).

Carly Fiorina, who is the only woman thought to be considering a GOP bid for the White House, said Clinton can’t name a single accomplishment during her stint as secretary of state under President Barack Obama, according to an Associated Press report.

She said she has traveled the globe like Clinton, but “unlike Mrs. Clinton, I know that flying is an activity, not an accomplishment.”

Fiorina has taken a shot at a political career before, running unsuccessfully for a U.S. Senate seat in California back in 2010. This week, she was one of the featured speakers at CPAC, a huge annual conference that features lots of Republican presidential contenders hoping to woo the conservative base.

She also hammered Clinton’s charity, which has received millions of dollars from foreign governments since being launched by her husband, former President Bill Clinton, in an effort to combat HIV and AIDS in Africa as well as educate and feed children around the globe.

Adrienne Elrod, spokesman for Correct the Record, a pro-Clinton group, shot back that Fiorina “only wishes she had Hillary’s long list of accomplishments.”

Clinton’s foundation has defended itself from attacks over the sources of its money, which conservatives argue is a conflict of interest due to Clinton’s prominent position working with foreign governments. The foundation said that if Clinton does officially declare her candidacy for president, it would ensure that its policies and practices are “appropriate” as it did when she was secretary of state.

Fiorina further slammed Clinton for claiming to be in favor of women’s rights but taking money from governments that oppress them, and that she “doesn’t know what leadership means.”
