Adam Scott is developing a marijuana comedy for NBC

He will develop alongside a Parks and Recreations writer.

Adam Scott and his wife Naomi are going to be exploring the world of marijuana for NBC as they are developing a new scripted comedy called Buds.

The show will revolve around the day-to-day operations of a marijuana dispensary in Denver, Colorado.

Buds have received a script commitment from NBC, which marks the first sale for the Parks and Recreation star and his wife under their production company, Gettin’ Rad, under their two year first look deal with Universal Television.

Joe Mande (Parks and Recreations) will be writing the pilot script and serve as executive producer alongside Naomi and Adam Scott.

There is no word yet on whether or not Adam Scott will be starring in the show as well, but it would be surprising if he did not have a supporting role in the show.

On the feature film side of the business, Gettin’ Rad produced, alongside the Duplass Brothers, the indie film The Overnight, which sold to Orchard Films. The film premiered at Sundance.

Adam Scott can next be seen in the film Hot Tub Time Machine 2 and will appear in the Parks and Recreations series finale next week.
