Texan schoolboy Aiden Steward claimed he could make his classmate 'disappear'
Aiden Steward, a nine year old Texan school boy, was suspended from school after telling one of his classmates that he could make him disappear.
Aiden had watched The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies with his family, which inspired Aiden’s imagination, leading him to proclaim that he had in his possession the one ring to rule them all, which is an object of fearsome power, forged in Mount Doom by the Dark Lord Sauron.
The boy’s father told the New York Daily news, “It sounded unbelievable.”, and insisted his son did not mean anything by it.
Unfortunately, Kermit Elementary School is not as enthusiastic for Peter Jackson’s series of JRR Tolkien adaptations as Aiden is.
Steward later wrote in an email to the school, “I assure you my son lacks the magical powers necessary to threaten his friend’s existence,”
This is not the first time Aiden has been suspended though. He’s been suspended twice before, once for bringing his favourite book to school, a children’s encyclopedia called The Big Book of Knowledge and once for referring to a classmate as “black”.
The father went on to say that, “He loves that book. They were studying the solar system and he took it to school. He thought his teacher would be impressed”.
However the teacher learned that the popular children’s encyclopedia had a section on pregnancy, which depicted a pregnant women illustration and was deemed a suspension-worthy offense.
Roxanne Greer, the school’s head, has declined to comment on the suspension, due to the school’s confidentiality policies.
It is currently unknown whether or not Aiden really is in possession of the One Ring.
