Bobbi Kristina, 21, remains hospitalized after being found unresponsive in a bathtub on Saturday.
Another sad case of history repeating itself? Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of Whitney Houston, remains hospitalized after being found unresponsive in her home.
According to Yahoo News, Brown, 21, was found in a townhouse outside of Atlanta on Saturday. Her husband Nick Gordon and his unidentified friend found Brown facedown in a filled bathtub. Gordon and his friend called 911 and performed CPR until the paramedics arrived.
The situation is a unfortunate parallel to the death of Brown’s mother, Whitney Houston at the age of 48. The acclaimed singer was found in a bathtub in Beverly Hills, California, on February 11, 2012. Authorities found multiple prescription medications in her hotel room and listed both cocaine use and heart failure as contributions to her death.
TMZ reports the situation is “bleak” for Brown. They quote sources who claim she was placed in a medically-induced coma due to brain swelling and is on a ventilator. Tests have allegedly shown that her brain function is “alarmingly low.” Friends and family have been told the outlook is not good.
Brown’s father, R&B singer Bobby Brown, is reportedly at her bedside, as is family friend Tyler Perry. Celebrities are also offering support via the web, with stars such Ciara tweeting “Prayers for Bobbi Kristina,” as well as Bravo’s Andy Cohen, actress Holly Robinson Peete, and Houston’s frequent collaborator Diane Warren sending good wishes by Twitter. LaToya Jackson and Superbowl performer Missy Elliott also sent prayers for Brown over the Internet.
Police are investigating the incident but as yet have not indicated there is any evidence of foul play.
