The suspect was killed immediately, and the officers are reportedly in good condition at a local hospital.

Two police officers who were shot at a Minnesota city hall meeting are recovering, and the suspect was shot by police in the chaotic incident captured on camera.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s office told the media that a man fired on officers at around 7:15 p.m. last night as they were leaving the council chambers following a swearing-in ceremony at the New Hope City Hall, according to a report from local station WCCO. Police immediately shot and killed the suspect.

The officers who were shot were taken to the hospital, where they were listed in good condition.

Video was running during the incident, and can be seen below. One council member was interrupted by the gunfire, prompting another council member, John Elder, to yell for everyone to “get down and stay down.” He then drew out a handgun and aimed it outward, appearing to be on the lookout for the gunman. Elder was formerly a police officer and he works as a public information officer for the Minneapolis Police Department.

Authorities are still investigating the shooting.

New Hope is a small city of just over 20,000, according to the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis/St. Paul greater metro area.
