Rihanna drops surprise track off new record

Over two years after releasing her last album, Unapologetic, Rihanna has finally given fans a peek of her next studio project.

In an excited tweet, the 26-year-old singer exclaimed happily, “FIRST GLIMPSE AT MY NEW MUSIC!!!” The pop star has been tagging posts related to the creation of her eighth studio album with the hashtag #R8. She has been playfully teasing fans with hints about her new music for months, dropping snippets of tracks and posting grainy art photos.

“Now I’m four, five seconds from wildin’/And we got three more days ’til Friday,” sings Rihanna in the catchy chorus to her new song. “I’m just tryna make it back home by Monday, mornin’/I swear I wish somebody would tell me/ Ooh thats all I want.”

The new full-length tune, entitled “FourFiveSeconds,” is available for download off iTunes or through Rihanna’s website. It features former Beatle Paul McCartney on the guitar – still rocking at 72 years old – and rapper Kanye West in a featured verse and smooth duet vocals. Sir Paul and Kanye have teamed up previously on the song “Only One,” a tribute to Kanye’s mother.

Rihanna assures fans that the anticipation for her music will be worth the wait. “I’m in the studio right now with a killer team and I’m excited about what we’re doing!” she said.
