Sammy Davis Jr’s ex-girlfriend latest to accuse Bill Cosby for sexual assault

Bill Cosby’s alleged assaults continue to make headlines. Katherine McKee, an actress and casting director who used to date Rat Pack member Sammy Davis Jr in the late 1960s, has come forward with claims that the legendary comedian raped her.

McKee, now 65, spoke exclusively with the New York Daily News. She recounted an occasion, 8 years into knowing Cosby through Davis, where she was in Detroit to visit family and Cosby called her to invite her to a party on a boat. “He was a buddy,” she said. “He knew I was Sammy’s girl.” She went to see him in his private room and “he just grabbed me.”

She said that she felt Cosby was a “different man” during the rape, and that it was “so fast and so shocking and so unbelievable” she did not report the incident to Davis. “I was mad at myself…and I had the guilt,” she explained. “I figured, ‘if I don’t think about it, it won’t bother me.’” McKee claims that hearing all the other claims made against the comedian have stirred up all her memories.

McKee reports that she has stepped out to support other women who have had similar experiences and to urge them to acknowledge what those experiences are. “We think of rape as a stranger who attacks you in a parking lot,” she explained of her own experience.

As for Cosby himself, McKee feels that, “I chalked it up to another powerful person in Hollywood who just felt he could take what he wanted from women.”

Cosby has yet to comment on these specific allegations.
