2015 Grammy Awards nominations announced, Beyonce most-nominated female

The top category nominations have been released for the 2015 Grammy Awards and Beyoncé receives her 47th nomination.

The nominations for the 57th Annual Grammy Awards were announced on Friday with the exception of Album of the Year. Beyoncé was nominated for the 47th time for Best Urban Contemporary Album making her the most-nominated female in Grammy history.

With her single nomination, Beyoncé  has passed Dolly Parton. She was tied with Parton with 46 nominations prior to Friday morning.

As far as the most Grammy-nominated artist overall, Beyoncé is tied for seventh place with producer David Foster, according to Billboard.  The Grammy nominations have not be fully revealed, so this could change. Beyoncé has won 17 of her 47 nominations so far. According to Rolling Stone, she took home the award for the Best Traditional R&B Performance for her song Love on Top in 2012. In 2009, she received the award for Best Contemporary R&B album for I am…Sasha Fierce. 

Beyonce released her a new edition of her Grammy-nominated album via Spotify in November, including two new tracks, 7/11 and Ring Off, remixes with various R&B artists, two photo books, a DVD of the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour and more.

Here are the rest of the nominees in top categories that have been announced so far according to the Associated Press:

Best urban contemporary album nominees include Beyoncé by Beyoncé; Sail Out, Jhene Aiko; X, Chris Brown; Mali Is, Mali Music and  G I R L, Pharrell.

Best R&B album nominees are Islander, Bernhoft; Lift Your Spirit, Aloe Blacc; Love, Marriage & Divorce, Toni Braxton and Babyface; Black Radio 2, Robert Glasper Experiment and Give the People What They Want, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings.

Best pop vocal album nominees are Ghost Stories by Coldplay, My Everything by Ariana Grande, by Ed Sherran, Prism by Katy Perry, Bangerz by Miley Cyrus and In the Lonely Hour by Sam Smith.

Best pop solo performance nominees are as follows: Happy (Live) by  Pharrell, All of Me (Live) by John Legend, Chandelier by Sia, Stay With Me (Darkchild Version) by Sam Smith and Shake It Off by Taylor Swift.

Best new artist nominees are Iggy Azalea, Brandy Clark, Bastille, HAIM and Sam Smith.

Best rock album nominees are Ryan Adams by Ryan Adams,  Morning Phase by Beck, Turn Blue by the Black Keys, Magnetic Eye by Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and Songs of Innocence by U2.

Best rap album nominees are as follows: Blacc Hollywood by Wiz Khalifa, Because the Internet  by Childish Gambino, The New Classic by Iggy Azalea, The Marshall Mathers LP2 by Eminem, Nobody’s Smiling by Common, and Oxymoron by Schoolboy Q.

Best country album nominees include Platinum by Miranda Lambert, Riser by Dierks Bentley, The Outsiders by Eric Church, 12 Stories by Brandy Clark and The Way I’m Livin’ by Leann Womack.

Best alternative music album nominees are Reflektor by Arcade Fire, This Is All Yours by Alt-J, St. Vincent by St. Vincent, Melophobia by Cage the Elephant, and Lazaretto by Jack White.

Nominees for the best reggae album, best rock song, best Americana album, and others have also been announced via Twitter. The remaining nominees are said to be announced on A Very GRAMMY Christmas on CBS which premieres Friday at 9 p.m. EST. Next year’s Grammy Awards will air live on Feb. 8 on CBS.
