The rescued individual fell approximately 20 feet after entering the retail store through a vent on the roof.

A 35-year-old man was rescued Tuesday after spending three days trapped inside the walls of a Marshalls Store in Longmont, Colorado, the Longmont Times-Call reports.

According to the Longmont Fire Department, Paul Felyk had become stuck in an empty space between interior and exterior walls at the store. To remove the man, fire fighters cut a gigantic hole in the side of the building.

The Associated Press reports that workers at the store heard Felyk Monday but were unable to determine the source of the sound until Tuesday.

According to The AP, the fire department believes that the 35 year old found himself trapped in the vacant space between walls after entering the Marshalls Store through a vent on the roof. The Times-Calls notes that Felyk, police say, fell approximately 20 feet after entering the retail store through a vent on the roof.

According to KTLA, the incident is being investigated as a criminal trespassing, but the recently rescued individual has not been taken into custody. The Times-Call adds that Felyk has prior convictions for robbery, trespassing, assault, DWI, theft and criminal mischief.
