Weather Channel says ignore their founder: global warming is very real

Following comments made by The Weather Channel co-founder John Coleman on his skepticism of global warming, officials confirm that the climate crisis indeed exists.

A statement released Wednesday by The Weather Channel clarifies their official position on the issue of global warming, following recent comments made by co-founder John Coleman denying the existence of a modern climate crisis.

Although Coleman declares that there is “no significant man-made global warming at this time, there has been none in the past and there is no reason to fear any in the future,” officials from the Weather Channel counter with statements confirming the existence of global warming and that human activity is the main cause.

The statement breaks down the issue of global warming into three key questions: Is global warming a reality? Are human activities causing it? What are the prospects for the future?

Officials go on to report that the climate of the earth is truly warming and that the impacts can be seen with melting glaciers, thawing permafrost, and a rapid retreat and thinning of sea ice in the Arctic. Human activity plays a key role in this with the burning of fossil fuels injecting added carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

Additionally, the Weather Channel states that a significant warming trend is expected to continue with the increasing rate of greenhouse gas emissions, cautioning that “this warming will manifest itself in a variety of ways, and shifts in climate could occur quickly.”

The statement comes after Coleman shocked many scientists and global warming supporters earlier this month with an open letter attacking the climate crisis and an interview with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly of the Kelly File discussing global warming myths.
