White House jumper had been arrested on presidential grounds before: report

The man failed to show up for a scheduled court appearance last month regarding the first incident.

The most recent individual to attempt to scale the White House fence had previously been arrested there, according to an Associated Press report.

Dominic Adesanhya, 23, of Bel Air, Md., will be held without bond in accordance with a ruling by a federal magistrate judge yesterday. He had been arrested at the White House back in July and was ordered to take a mental health screening.

Adesanya is accused of jumping over the fence around the White House grounds and assaulting two law enforcement dogs that set upon him. He has a prelminary hearing set for Monday.

The incident prompted the White House to pledge renewed efforts to boost security after a series of breaches.

While his father said in the AP report that his son was not violent, he was paranoid and believed cameras were watching his every move — even removing a mirror in his own bathroom and cutting into the wall to find one. Adesanya complained about cameras in his home after his first arrest in July for allegedly attempting to jump the White House fence. Just three days after that incident, officers had to forcibly remove him from the Treasury building nearby after he allegedly swung at them. He didn’t show up to a Sept. 9 court appearance on the matter.

A month before this most recent incident, another White House intruder, Omar Gonzalez, ran past uniformed agents on the White House lawn brandishing a knife and made it all the way into the East Room before being apprehended.

The series of breaches prompted Julia Pierson to resign as director of the Secret Service.
