Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and actress Cheryl Hines tied the knot over the weekend. The couple’s wedding took place under a tent on Cape Cod at the Kennedy residence, the Hyannis Port compound. They were surrounded by friends and loved ones as they celebrated the special day. Several stars were also in attendance, including Natasha Bedingfield, Larry David, and Julie Louis-Dreyfus. Hines wore a tea-length, strapless gown designed by Romona Keveza.
Kennedy, 60, is an environmental lawyer and is part of the Kennedy dynasty. His father is late U.S. senator Robert F. Kennedy. He is also president of the Waterkeeper Alliance, an organization dedicated to water protection. Hines, 48, is a veteran actress and writer who plays Larry David’s wife on the HBO show, Curb Your Enthusiasm. This is her second marriage. She was previously married to Paul Young and had a daughter, but split in 2010 after eight years together.
This is the third marriage for Kennedy. He was previously married to Emily Ruth Black with whom he had two children, but they divorced in 1994. That same year, he wed Mary Kathleen Richardson, and the couple had four children. In 2010, he filed for divorce. Tragically, Richardson hung herself in 2012. Kennedy met Hines on a skiing trip and the two were together ever since. In April, the couple announced their engagement, and on Saturday they were wed.
Initially, the couple was looking to elope, but wanted to include their parents. The guest list grew to include over 300 guests. According to Hine’s publicist, “They have wed, and it was beautiful.” The event was a lovely, but casual affair. All children were in attendance to witness the bride and groom say ‘I do’. The couple was very happy, surrounded by family, and looking forward to married life.
