Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock welcomed their first child River Rose on Thursday June 12.

The two tied the knot last October in Tennessee, and Clarkson was very anxious to have her first child soon after. On Friday, the singer shared an Instagram photo of her beautiful eight-day-old baby girl taking a little nap in a rose-colored carriage.

The caption reads, “Here is our beautiful baby girl River Rose; 6lbs 6oz, 18 inches, and the greatest thing on the planet.”

The photo was taken by Archetype Studio Inc., the same company that took the couple’s wedding photos.

Clarkson is stepmother to Blackstock’s two children Seth, seven, and Savannah, 11, from a previous marriage to Melissa Ashworth White.

Blackstock’s ex-wife gets along quite well with Clarkson. “I love Kelly and we get along great,” said White. “My husband and I hang out with them all the time.”

White was one of the first people to visit River Rose when she was born. Clarkson’s stepchildren Seth and Savannah were the reason she was so excited to have a child of her own.

“They’re so great. I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five,” she said on The Tonight Show back in November 2013.

“I’m totally gonna have a girl. I’m manifesting it,” she said in November. “And when I have a girl, you’re gonna be like, ‘That chick knew it!’”

Two days after the birth, Clarkson tweeted, “Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th! Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes! Brandon and I are on cloud 9!! :)”
