Report: Injured hair-hanging acrobats hire law firm

The law firm has not yet filed a lawsuit.

According to a report from The Associated Press, seven of the eight female circus performers who were injured during a hair-hanging stunt in Rhode Island on May 4 have hired Clifford Law Offices, a Chicago-based law firm, to represent them.

Some of the performers are still undergoing treatment and are in physical therapy and will require surgeries, a statement released by the law firm on Monday noted.

Several of the seven circus performers represented by Clifford Law Offices will address the media on Tuesday, while the others will be continuing their rehabilitation activities.

Robert A. Clifford, senior partner of Clifford Law Office, revealed that his firm has not yet filed a lawsuit but is currently conducting an investigation into all the possible parties who may be responsible for what took place.

The accident is also being investigated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OHSA), Reuters reports. OSHA has six months to look into the accident and could then give out citations to the company if it discovers any legal violations.
