The Fault in Our Stars actress continues to polarize with recent interviews.

High-profile movie star Shailene Woodley continues to make headlines for her opinionated interviews. Lead actress of hit Divergent and the film adaptation of beloved YA novel The Fault in Our Stars, Woodley, 22, continues to create controversy when her outspoken personality.

As reported in a piece by Vulture magazine, Woodley recently earned boos from Jimmy Fallon’s audience. When asked about being compared to Jennifer Lawrence, star of the Hunger Games, Woodley replied, “Well, comparisons always lead to despair.” The Tonight Show decided not to air the segment, and Woodley later defended herself by asking, “How is the world going to advance if we’re always comparing ourselves to others? I admire Jennifer Lawrence, but she’s everyone’s favorite person to compare me to. Is it because we both have short hair and a vagina?”

Also known for her endorsement of natural products and an eco-friendly lifestyle, Woodley caused a similar stir with an interview with Time in May. Asked if she was a feminist, she replied, “no, because I love men.” Although Woodley went on to emphasize that, “my biggest thing is really sisterhood more than feminism,” the backlash was significant. Speaking with EW on Monday, she complained that the Time article was counterintuitive to her message of universal acceptance. “It pitted women against me,” she commented.

The Fault in Our Stars opens on Friday.
