Rolling Stones back on tour following the death of L'Wren Scott

The rock legends returned to perform a sold-out show in Oslo.

The Rolling Stones have returned to the stage following a break to mourn the loss of lead singer Mick Jagger’s girlfriend, designer L’Wren Scott, reports CNN.

Jagger, 70, and the rest of the Stones, Keith Richards, 70, Charlie Watts, 72, and Ronnie Wood, 66, canceled and rescheduled several shows after Scott’s March 17 death. She was 49.

The rock ‘n’ roll legends officially resumed their 14 on Fire tour Monday night, playing Oslo, Norway. The tour celebrates the band’s 50th anniversary.

The Rolling Stones performed the sold-out show at the Telenor Arena for an audience of 23,000, according to Newsday.

While frontman Jagger made no mention of Scott during the 20-song performance, guitarist Richards did note that, “It’s good to be back; on with the show.”

L’Wren Scott’s death — ruled a suicide — came as shock to all who knew her, especially Jagger. The pair had been a couple since 2003, and were dating at the time of her death.

“I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me,” said Jagger, in a statement, following the news of her death.

Jagger and the Stones were touring Australia at the time, and subsequently canceled seven shows both there and in New Zealand. These shows have been rescheduled for October and November.

In Oslo, the Stones performed several hits, including “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” “Let’s Spend the Night Together,” and “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” which was accompanied by the Edvard Grieg Youth Choir.
