34-year-old woman accused of posing as a 15-year-old high school student

Johnson was arrested on Tuesday.

According to a report from KLTV, 34-year-old Charity Johnson allegedly posed as a high school sophomore at New Life Christian School in Longview, Texas for nearly a full year.

When Johnson was arrested Tuesday, she reportedly gave officers the name “Charite Stevens” and a birth date of Nov. 24, 1997, the same birth date that Johnson used to enroll at New Life Christian School.

KLTV notes that Tamica Lincoln acted as Charity’s guardian after the woman claimed that she 15 and had been abused by her biological father. Lincoln even met with Charity’s 10th grade teachers.

Rickie Williams, Charity’s alleged boyfriend, says that the woman told him she was 18. “My best friend showed me and I was shocked,” Williams told KLTV. “I did not know she was 31.” Since her arrest, police have said they believe that Charity is actually 34.

For the time being, Williams has more questions than answers.

“I was seeing some of the things saying she didn’t look like she needed to go to jail, she needed help, and she probably does, but my question is, why would she do that? Lie about your age just to go back to school, you know?”
