Jermaine Jackson disappointed with making of Michael Jackson album 'Xscape'

Jermaine Jackson isn't completely sold on a Michael Jackson album that doesn't include the Jackson family.

According to a new interview, Jermaine Jackson has mixed feelings about his late brother Michael Jackson’s newly released posthumous album. He reports that while he loves the album’s title song, “Xscape,” he has yet to listen to the entire album. “I haven’t heard the whole CD yet,” he said in an interview posted to TMZ.com on May 11, 2014, “so until I hear it I can’t give you an honest opinion.”

Jackson also reported that he and the other surviving members of the Jackson family, including the former music group Jackson 5 had no formal connection to the new album, commenting, “We have nothing to do with that, it’s all the estate.”

Xscape was produced by Epic Records, and Jackson for one seems to feel there was a missed opportunity. “They don’t contact us,” he said of Epic’s head boss L.A. Reid and individual song producers, including Timbaland. “Imagine the Jackson 5 back on record and I love Timbaland by the way, nothing against Timbaland, but that could have been us.”
