CBS axes Robin Williams comedy 'The Crazy Ones'

The Crazy Ones averaged a 2.8 rating in the key demographic and 10.5 million viewers.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS has renewed The Mentalist, but has axed Hostages, Intelligence, Friends With Better Lives, Bad Teacher and the Robin Williams comedy The Crazy Ones.

The Los Angeles Times notes that Williams role in The Crazy Ones was “touted as a return to his roots” after a successful movie career, but the comedy pulled in less-than-stellar ratings and so-so reviews.

THR points out that The Crazy Ones, which also starred Sarah Michelle Gellar, averaged a 2.8 rating in the key demographic and 10.5 million viewers.

The actor has several projects in the works. He’s currently filming a third installment of the Night At The Museum Series with Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Rebel Wilson and Rachel Harris. He’s also rumored to be part of a forthcoming Mrs. Doubtfire 2.
