1D’s Liam Payne defends pro-Duck Dynasty tweet: ‘Pick ur balls up off the floor’

He said at the end of his rant that all of his comments were directed at journalists not his fans.

One Direction’s Liam Payne says he’s sick of being scrutinized by the media. Welcome to the world of just about every celebrity on this planet.

On Saturday, Payne sent a tweet to Willie Robertson (the son of Phil Robertson): “huge love to you/your family huge respect for your business prosperities and the family values you still all behold. big fan.”

Though he made no mention of the recent controversy surrounding the show after family patriarch Phil Robertson made some homophobic comments in an interview with GQ, the One Direction member was immediately criticized for defending Robertson’s remarks.

The Mirror, for example, concocted the following headline: “One Direction’s Liam Payne defends ‘homophobic tweet’ to Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson supporting family values.”

After this headline and many others, Payne went on a Twitter rant.

Here are some of the tweets:

“Just watched a show and I liked it as most people do stop sitting in my twitter and do your research.”

“Sick of all this bull il be back again when the freedom of speech law is back and people don’t believe to much into the bulls#!t they read.”

“Pick ur balls up off the floor and get on with it instead of taking advantage of every word said and twisting it for your own gain.”

But just to be clear, he said at the end of his rant that all of his comments were directed at journalists not his fans.
