Basketball star Dwayne Wade has confirmed reports that he fathered a love child during a break from his fiancee Gabrielle Union, according to AceShowbiz. Wade confirmed the reports during a press conference on Monday.

The three-time champion called his son “a blessing to the bloodline, to the Wade bloodline.”

Wade also confirmed that he fathered the child during a break in his current relationship.

“I had a time, a part in our break, in our pain and our hurt, a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son that was born healthy,” explained Wade. “So I’m moving on.”

This is Wade’s third child. He has two other sons from his marriage to Siohvaughn Funches.

“I’m in the public eye, so obviously that’s a part of it,” added Wade. “It comes with the territory”.

Citing the baby’s birth certificate, TMZ reports that the infant’s name is  Xavier Zechariah Wade (born in Los Angeles on November 10, 2013). The star’s baby mama is 30-year-old Aja Metoyer (named on the birth certificate).
