Charlie Sheen offers Lindsay Lohan his services as a mentor

No word yet on whether Lohan has accepted Sheen's offer to mentor her.

“Platoon” actor and Hollywood bad boy Charlie Sheen wants to mentor troubled actress Lindsay Lohan, according to TMZ. The actor recently told the gossip website that Lohan could learn from his past mistakes.

Sheen said that Lohan “clearly” needs a mentor even if she’s not interested in having one. He added that the actress could learn a lot from someone “who’s been down” every road she’s been on, in addition to “every other side trail.”

This isn’t the first time that Sheen has offered to help the “Liz & Dick” actress. The actor reportedly paid Lohan $100,000 to cover her tax debt in 2012. Sources told TMZ back in November that Lohan and Sheen became close friends while filming “Scary Movie 5” together. According to the website, Lohan owed the IRS nearly $300,000 for unpaid taxes for 2009 and 2010.

Although Sheen is probably not the most suitable alternative, Lohan’s lawyer hasn’t been doing a very good job of helping her in the courtroom, according to judge Jim Dabney. TMZ reported earlier this week that Dabney told Lohan’s New York lawyer, Mark Heller, that he was too incompetent to practice law in California. Dabney advised Lohan to find a lawyer that knows California law.

The judge refused on Friday to dismiss the reckless driving and obstruction case against the actress, according to Reuters. As a result, Lohan will stand trial on March 18. The “Mean Girls” actress was charged with reckless driving, lying to police and obstructing police after her luxury sports car rear ended a truck in 2012.
