Report: Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez split after ugly fight in Mexico

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez breakup after huge fight.

Things didn’t go so well for Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez during their winter trip to Mexico. A source told The New York Daily News that the couple split before they could celebrate the end of 2012 together. An ugly fight reportedly led to the split. The source told the Daily News that Bieber and Gomez left Mexico separately and have yet to see each other in 2013.

“The two of them flew to Mexico for New Year’s Eve, but had a blow-out argument on December 30 and broke up. Selena left Mexico that same day and Justin left for L.A. on the 31st. They haven’t seen each other since and she was never at the Four Seasons on New Year’s Day,” the source said.

“They keep breaking up and getting back together,” the source added. “It’s an on-again, off-again relationship. It’s probably not correct to characterize this as a final breakup.”

Bieber and Gomez have been struggling to keep their relationship intact since November, when the two first called it quits.

“I don’t know what to say […] I don’t know what’s going on in my life,” said Bieber when asked about the status of his relationship with Gomez by the radio show Open House Party. “To even assess that – it doesn’t make sense [because] I have not made any comment.”

To make matters worse for Bieber Believers, it was rumored after their November breakup that Victoria’s Secret model Barbara Palvin had come between Bieber and Gomez. Rumors of something going on between Palvin and Bieber were fueled by a tweet and photograph from the model.

“Okay sooo because u guys were askin for it! with @justinbieber ! you were great tonight!” Palvin tweeted along with a photo of herself and Bieber at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show.

Shortly after posting the photograph, the model was overwhelmed by Bieber Believers who were concerned that she was driving a wedge between Bieber and Gomez.

“[L]ast time im saying it. please calm down,” Palvin tweeted, hoping to pacify Justin’s fans. “There is nothing going on w him. i met him and did a pic w him. wouldnt u do the same?:) #friendship.”

This isn’t the first time that Bieber has been in the news this past week. On Tuesday, a photographer was struck by a car and killed after snapping photos of Bieber’s white Ferrari while it was pulled over by police, according to The Los Angeles Times. Bieber was not in the car at the time.

The paparazzi have tried relentlessly to photograph the driving habits of Bieber, forcing the Los Angeles city attorney’s office to enforce a new state law. The law, which was passed in 2010, penalizes photographers driving in a hazardous manner while trying to take images they plan on selling.

In November, however, Superior Court Judge Thomas Rubinson threw out two charges against a photographer accused of chasing Bieber on the 101 Freeway.

Shortly after the photographer’s death, Bieber called for new laws, while also expressing his sympathies for the photographer’s family.

“Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves,” Bieber said in a statement released by Island Def Jam Music Group.

Bieber wasn’t the only one weighing in on the incident. Singer Miley Cyrus took to Twitter to call for new laws.

“Hope this paparazzi/JB accident brings on some changes in ’13,” she tweeted. “Paparazzi are dangerous! Wasn’t Princess Di enough of a wake-up call?!”
