Google has launched a new tool for helping you find your dream phone.
There’s a lot of phone options out there, and most people make their choice based on maybe what seems like the hot new thing or by what their friends say they should get. Google, however, wants to make the choice a little bit more personal and has launched a new website to help you do just that (provided that what you want is an Android-based phone, of course).
The website (android.com/phones/whichphone) asks you three or more questions about your preferences and your lifestyle, and then suggests a device based on that input, according to PCMag report.
The site’s landing page features a looping conveyor belt of cartoon-like “consumers,” with the tagline “With many Android phones to choose from, here’s a great place to start.”
The site then asks you questions about how you use your phone. If someone mainly uses the phone to listen to music, or perhaps to snap photos and play games. Or maybe someone uses it to get work done and interact on social media. In any event, the site takes those phone usage preferences and tries to narrow it down to a specific Android phone that caters to that.
On the second screen, the site asks how often you use certain features, as well as what you think are the most important apps on the phone.
Once you’re done, you tap the “Show Me Phones” button and choose which carrier you currently have. After that, Google figures out which phones best matches your preferences, and then shows the carrier, size, price, and other information about it.
