The Fifty Shades of Grey frenzy is back. After the sequel was confirmed, a new teaser for Fifty Shades Darker hit the web, and it is said to be more thriller-like.

The teaser for the second installment shows Christian Grey putting on a tuxedo and securing a black mask over his eyes. He appears to be getting ready for a masquerade ball.

The clip does not give much away about the plot of the sequel, but it includes suspenseful sounds of piano keys mixed with heavy breathing. It gives viewers the impression that the romance between Anastasia and Christian is moving to a darker level.

And if viewers were not sure about the level of darkness, a caption flashes up on the screen reading “Are you ready… for something…darker?” But fans are going to have to wait until 2017 to witness just how dark the film will get.

Until then, Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley has given a few hints. She spoke about the direction the film will be taking at The Hollywood Reporter Power Lawyers breakfast on Wednesday. Langley said that the film will be “more of a thriller” than the last.

She also said that author E.L. James’ husband is set to write the script this time, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Langley ensured that he earned the job, and she said that he wrote a draft for the first movie and he did “a really good job.”

Though a new screenwriter has been chosen, a new director has not been announced. According to Vanity Fair, they are aiming to being production on the sequel in 2016.

The release date for Fifty Shades Darker is set for February 10, 2017. And the trilogy, Fifty Shades Free, is set for February 9, 2018.

Both Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan will be returning in the sequel as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steel. And, of course, their steamy romance will be returning too.
