The aftermath of the tour bus shooting.
No one has been arrested, so far; but there are already suspects in the Lil Wayne shooting.
Early this Sunday in Atlanta, CNN reports, gunshots were fired at rapper Lil Wayne’s tour bus, causing shock and alarm for all parties involved. While no one was injured in the shooting, suspects are heavily sought after in this high profile attack on the singer/songwriter. “Police are still looking for suspects,” according to CNN; however, alternate sources are saying that suspects have already been named.
Officers were called to the scene, a parking lot in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood, around 3:25 a.m., where they located two tour buses that had been shot multiple times.
Allegedly, a “Corvette style vehicle” and an SUV have been named as possible suspects.
According to Atlanta Journal Atlanta spokesperson Elizabeth Espy said, “officers from her department were called to the Mandarin Oriental hotel on Peachtree Road at about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, regarding someone shooting at a bus that Lil Wayne was on.” The responding officers discovered that the tour buses had in fact been shot multiple times. Drivers reported that the shooting occurred on I-285 near I-75 in Cobb County.
Fortunately, no one on either bus was injured.
While witnesses could only offer a “limited description of the suspect vehicles,” Espy shared that “they were described as two white vehicles, possibly a Corvette-style vehicle and an SUV.
Between the two buses there were “a dozen or so” passengers between them, but it was unclear if Lil Wayne was actually on the bus at the time of the shooting.
The rapper performed Saturday night at the Compound nightclub on Brady Avenue in Atlanta, just a day before the shooting.
Police are currently investigating suspects and the assailants have yet to be identified by face or name at this time.
