Bruce Jenner: My new female name will NOT start with a ‘K’!

The former Olympian has received praise for his brave coming-out as transgender on national television

Bruce Jenner has revealed he is keeping his new name a secret for the time being – but joked it won’t start with the letter K, reports the Mirror.

The gold-winning former Olympian and “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star came out as a transgender woman in Friday’s interview with Diane Sawyer, which was watched by a stunning 16.9 million viewers.

In the interview, Jenner confirmed months of media speculation, saying, “Yes, for all intents and purposes, I’m a woman. I have the soul of a female and my brain is much more female than it is male, as of now I have all the male parts.”

Bruce went on to detail the reasons he is not yet ready to reveal his female name, saying: “If I do (reveal the name), the media will go crazy and I’ll never get rid of them.”

He then chuckled that his name won’t start with a ‘K’, referencing the first letter used by wife Kris, step-daughters Kim, Kourtney and Khloe, and daughters Kendall and Kylie, adding: “She’s definitely a Jenner.”

Jenner hopes he can do “some good” by speaking so openly about his desire to become a woman. He also asked to be referred to by male pronouns for the purpose of the interview.

Bruce clarified that he is “asexual” after Sawyer asked if he was a lesbian, and continued: “I’m me, I’m a person. I’m not stuck in anybody’s body. Bruce Jenner has always been confused with my gender identity.”

And he informed viewers that it was actually Kim Kardashian, his step-daughter, who was the first of the children who knew he dressed as a woman, and the one he has been the most comfortable talking about the transition.

Jenner said that he wasn’t saying goodbye to Bruce, but to how others might view him.

He said: “I’m saying goodbye to people’s perceptions of me and who I am but I’m not saying goodbye to me.

“Please be open minded. Have an open mind and an open heart. I’m not this bad person, I’m just doing what I have to do.”
