"We danced close, we did kiss,’’ Michelle Rosenthal, 65, told inside Edition, in recounting their Newtown High School prom in Connecticut in the 1960s.
The shock of Olympic champion Bruce Jenner possibly transitioning into a woman has trickled down to his high school sweetheart.
“I would never have thought that in a million years, knowing him from high school,’’ Jenner’s high school sweetheart Michelle Rosenthal told Inside Edition in an interview that is set to air on Thursday. “When it came out in the paper that he was thinking of this, I think everyone was really shocked.’’
“We danced close, we did kiss,’’ Rosenthal, 65, told inside Edition, in recounting their Newtown High School prom in Connecticut in the 1960s. “He seemed to enjoy [kissing].’’
The Inside Edition interview was the first time she has spoken about Jenner, who is expected to announce during a two-hour Friday interview with Diana Sawyer on ABC’s “20/20” that he is, indeed, transitioning into a woman.
“The Bruce I remember was happy-go-lucky,’’ Rosenthal told Inside Edition. “Nice guy, friendly with everybody, popular. The few times I’ve seen him on the TV show, he just didn’t look happy.’’
“I hope he figures out what it is that he would like in his life, she added. “And I hope he finds happiness.’’
The Daily Mail reported that Jenner, who has six biological children and four stepchildren, was last seen on Sunday riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the Santa Monica mountains wearing a sports bra underneath his sweatshirt.
The newspaper also reported that he has already undergone a laryngeal shave procedure to flatten out his Adam’s Apple, and has reportedly had rhinoplasty to sculpt his nose into a more feminine shape.
In the Sawyer interview, Jenner can be seen supported by his four oldest children Burt, 36, Casey, 34, Brandon, 33, and Brody, 31, as they sit nearby during the revealing chat.
