As ‘Dancing With the Stars’ enters its sixth week, there’s no surprise that one of the front runners is Rumer Willis. Her superstar parents have busted a move on the big and small screens in the past, and their daughter has confirmed her family’s passion for the pastime.
Rumer, the eldest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, recently told Us Magazine that her family is a ‘dance family.’
‘I mean, I feel like if I was 6 six years old, I would be on ‘Dance Moms,” Rumer, 26, jokingly told Us Magazine. ‘It’s awesome. My sister were texting me the other day and they were like, ‘We have totally become a dance family.”
Moore and Willis have been faithful supporters for Rumer, sitting stage side at the event the CBS Studios for nearly every episode. On the April 7 episode, they’re shots of Moore getting emotional watching Rumer perform.
Rumer told Us Magazine that Moore is far from the abrasive stage moms portrayed Lifetime’s ‘Dance Moms.’
‘I have actually never seen the show Dance Moms,’ Rumer told Us Magazine, ‘but she’s really not like that. It’s nice to have a family that is so supportive and is so into it and loves coming here.’
Moore, 52, starred in the ‘Striptease,’ and recently got annoyed when judge Len Goodman disapproved of Rumer’s raunchy dance sequence with her partner Val Chmerkovskiy on the April 20 episode.
Goodman made it clear that he doesn’t like ‘all that raunchy stuff’’ in his commentary of the pair’s performance.
Despite it all, Rumer and Chmerkovskiy have remained this season’s front runners. And Rumer has learned to adapt to the big stage and grow from the criticisms.
‘I feel like because we have such a short amount of time to talk to them,’ Rumer said Us Magazine about the judges critiques.
‘I wish I could get more specifics from them because they said they expect a lot of me,’ Rumer told Us Magazine, ‘and I wish I knew exactly what I could improve to have made that dance better.’
