Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen broke their silence on the Full House revival, Fuller House, today in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily. In fact, they didn’t even know it was happening until the rest of the world did.
“We just found out about it today,” Mary-Kate said in her interview on Tuesday.
Since John Stamos announced the revival on Monday, fans have been wondering which members of the original cast would make an appearance– especially if the Olsens would reprise their role as Michelle Tanner.
In the years following Full House, the Olsens built a media empire but have since taken a step back from the acting world to focus on careers in fashion. The twins have launched several successful clothing lines such as couture brand “The Row” and vintage inspired “Elizabeth & James.” Most recently, they expanded overseas with a line in Oslo, Norway.
Despite their break from the industry, neither sister ruled out the possibility of joining the revival. “I guess we’re going to talk to the creators and see what’s happening,” said Mary-Kate.
The sisters have kept in touch with their Full House family in the years since and were shocked that they haven’t heard of the reboot previously. “I’m shocked I haven’t heard from John [Stamos],” Mary-Kate shared with WWD.
“I ran into Bob [Saget] the other day and we didn’t even talk about it. I’m going to call [Saget] and get his perspective,” Ashley adorably chimed in.
Candace Cameron-Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber have all signed on to reprise their roles in Fuller House which will follow a recently widowed DJ Tanner as she navigates single parenthood with the help of her sister, Stephanie, and best friend, Kimmy. Stamos will produce and reprise his role as Uncle Jesse. At this time, no other original cast members have been confirmed to join the reboot.
