There’s nothing stopping the trainwreck called Amy Schumer.
Comedy Central confirmed Tuesday that they have renewed ‘Inside Amy Schumer’ for a fourth season, a mere hours before the show’s third season premiere. Schumer initially announced the news as a guest on ‘Late Night with David Letterman’ Monday night.
“I’m so happy to keep the ‘Inside Amy Schumer’ family together,” Schumer told The Hollywood Reporter, “Excited and scared for everyone to see what we do next.”
The meteoric success of the sketch series has propelled Schumer into A-list status. She recently hosted the MTV Movie Awards, was named in Time Magazine’s annual list of 100 most influential people, and even graced the cover of Entertainment Weekly in March.
Later this summer, Schumer will star in her first feature film directed Judd Apatow and written by Schumer — ‘Trainwreck.’
The first two seasons of ‘Inside Amy Schumer’ have received critical praise. After premiering in 2013, the show earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination and recently won Schumer a Peabody Award last week.
The third season will boost up the star power as it will feature guest appearances from Amber Tamblyn and Method Man.
Comedy Central also announced the renewals of the all-female sitcom, ‘Broad City’, for a third season, as well as a second season for ‘The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail.’
With the long-list of failed sitcoms on network television of late, Schumer’s success has reassured there’s still comedy gold.
