Comedian Roseanne Barr may be losing her vision, but the activist and onetime presidential candidate definitely has a strong point of view when it comes to Hillary Clinton’s second bid in becoming this nation’s first female President.
Barr, who is suffering from glaucoma and macular degeneration (her father had it too), a condition that will ultimately make her blind, told the Daily Beast that Clinton is a “Democrat just like they all are.’’
“She seems like every other democrat. I would not like to see her win,’’ Barr told the Daily Beast. “She’s the same old sh–t. I’d like to see me win. I don’t see how she can win, but it will be interesting to see how the process goes – although it’s kind of offensive that the American people for 21 months have to live through the mudslinging that goes on between the two parties (Democrats and Republicans).”
Moreover, she does not care about Clinton winning as a symbolic victory for women.
“I would rather see the first intelligent, honest American president,’’ Barr told the Daily Beast. “I don’t care what’s in their shorts. I don’t care what it looks like down there at all. The thing I did like Hillary for was that she was the first candidate who ever listened to what women said, because she had to.”
And as for her narrowing vision, Barr told the Daily Beast that “it’s something weird.”
“But there are other weird things,’’ she said. “I just try and enjoy vision as much as possible – y’know, living it up.”
