Warner Bros. wastes no time in securing new director for ‘Wonder Woman’

Just as Michelle Maclaren resigned from her role as the director for the upcoming Warner Bros. movie Wonder Woman, Patty Jenkins swooped right in just two days later to officially replace Maclaren. Director Maclaren did not see eye to eye with the creative direction that DC and studio Warner Bros. wanted to head in. Ironically, Jenkins, who was quickly assigned the role of Director, just so happens to be a former Marvel superhero favorite. She contently agreed to lead the direction of this iconic comic book character’s film adaption.

Although it was an unexpected change, Warner Bros. may have been planning the switch for some time now according to sources. Jenkins, who stepped in to fill the void, has had superhero vision ever since her attachment to direct Marvel Studios Thor 2. However, we were deprived to see what the director of Monster would have made out of the film. So now the battle of the wonder women begins as we look forward to what Jenkins will do with this movie! Jenkins could have been the first female Director that Marvel contracted if the contract to direct Thor 2 had been carried out. There has been speculation over whether her gender played a role in her being slighted from the position. In her new position, we will be able to see what she makes of this female-based superhero film that is due for release in 2017.

Although Maclaren, who is an Emmy Award-winning director, resigned her role for this film, it would have been interesting to see what this impressive director had in store for fans. Maclaren is known to have directed some of the best episodes of great series such as The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and Breaking Bad. While both resumes are quite impressive, Jenkins has some big shoes to fill, and we can only hope she fills them well.
