‘Real Housewives’ Adrienne Maloof on costar’s arrest: “Kim needs help”

The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” are breaking their silence on the unfortunate situation surrounding their co-star and friend, E! News reports.

Kim Richards was arrested early this morning at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The Beverly Hills Police were called around 1:30 a.m. by security in response to a reported fight, where Richards was described as belligerent with slurred speech and smelling strongly of alcohol.

Those who tune in to the Bravo reality show know that Kim has been very open about her struggles with substance abuse; she recently reassured fans that she has maintained her sobriety for three years.

Friends of Richards have taken their concerns public.

Adrienne Maloof tells E! News, “I think this is a cry for help. Right now Kim needs help,” and adds, “She and [sisters] Kyle Richards and Kathy [Hilton] are in my prayers and have my full support.”

Castmate and new “RHOBH” member Eileen Davidson, who went toe-to-toe with Richards during the most recent season of the show, shared her well wishes on Twitter. “I feel badly for Kim Richards and her family my thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.”

Fellow newcomer Lisa Rinna also chimed in, tweeting, “I was sad to hear about Kim’s incident and I wish her and her family the best.”

Lisa Vanderpump added, “U can’t help somebody til they want to help themselves, I know for sure that the sisters will always support each other when the time comes.”

Kim’s BFF Brandi Glanville has not spoken directly about her arrest, but did tweet something that might be an allusion to the incident. “Real friends are their in the good times, the bad times & especially the worst times. I am blessed with real friends & am a real friend myself,” she wrote.

Adding to speculation, a source tells E! News that Glanville was not with Richards last night, but says “Brandi is very concerned for her friend and has, of course, reached out.”

Richards has been charged with public intoxication, trespassing, resisting an officer and battery on a police officer. She has been summoned to appear at the L.A. Superior Court on June 10.
