Kim Kardashian upsets local bishop at Armenian church

Why the bishop was displeased.

Kim Kardashian has done it again. It seems that everywhere she goes she causes some type of stir.

This time, she’s ruffled some religious feathers. On a visit to Kim’s ancestral hometown of Gyumri, a city 90 kilometers, 55 miles northwest of the capital Yerevan, “where records show some Kardashian ancestors lived,” according to NY Daily NewsKim visited a church, along with husband Kanye West and their daughter and her sister Khloe.

The group entered the Cathedral of the Holy Mother of God, requiring the services of bodyguards, who tried to close the doors of the church and steer onlookers away. In an effort to keep journalists and fans out of reach, bodyguards attempted to block the doors of the church, which upset the local bishop, who “sharply objected to obstructing worshippers from the church.”

After a time, the bodyguards gave in and allowed the doors to stay open, as intended by the bishop and church.

After the discrepancy, the Kardashians continued shooting with cameraman for their reality show, going to a house where her ancestors once lived. Currently, the house is unoccupied.

Meanwhile, Dailymail UK, writes that Kourtney Kardashian had a “quiet day with her kids after skipping Armenia trip because she felt ‘too anxious’ to travel with them.” Perhaps she was right to skip out on the hoopla and media maelstrom.

Attempting to visit a church might not be the first expected stop for the Kardashian clan. In an effort to visit monuments of importance and cultural significance, Kim and her entourage may have taken it too far, stepping over the bounds of the local protocol, infringing upon the efforts of the community’s faith and practices.

If Kim Kardashian and Kanye West aren’t enough of a media spectacle on U.S. soil, it will be interesting to see how the locals react to the famous couple oversees and whether or not these American celebrities will adapt to local customs.
