It was reported that Swift wanted to keep the details of her mother’s condition private. However, she made the announcement through her social media account to warn fans that she might not make some shows for her upcoming world tour.

The Grammy winner reached much success with her 1989 album and planned a world tour to start in weeks. Now, with the news about her mother’s illness, it is not known how many shows the singer plans on attending.

Taylor Swift was going to start her tour in Tokyo on May 5, and move on to another 50 cities around the world. Taylor also said on Tumblr that she has “an important battle to fight” after stating that she will not make some of the shows.

With the singer’s situation, the hashtag #PrayForMamaSwift has been trending on Twitter. Her followers have been offering prayers and support.

Fans used the words “there’s something in your eyes that says we can beat this” to support the singer on Twitter. The lyrics come from the song “Change” that Swift released in 2008.

The singer thanked her fans and also advised them to have their parents screened for cancer or other health problems. Taylor Swift has been very outspoken about her mother during interviews in the past by saying that her mother has been a friend that has always been there for her.
