In less than a week, Universal's Furious 7 has passed the $500 million mark at the box office.
The makers of the “Furious 7” movie are anything but upset at the dollar signs that the film is generating. In less than one week since its premier, Furious 7 may be the first movie this year to cross the $1 billion dollar mark! It is evident that we are living in the generation of adrenaline as fans rushed this past week to see the very anticipated movie.
The franchised film is making box office history in its first week and may be the best way to remember the last movie that Paul Walker worked in before his untimely death in 2013. The movie is in the top ten U.S. openings and happens to be the only movie on the list that is not based on a comic book character. So far, it appears that Furious 7 will be the most successful version of the movie series to date. In addition to being most profitable for the franchise, it is the biggest opening weekend for Universal Pictures to date.
Based on projections, it looks like box office sales in North America may take in about $60 million this upcoming weekend. That may leave the responsibility of the milestone mark of $1 Billion up to the box office sales in China. This final film for Paul Walker may make history just yet which will leave Walker’s fans content of the actor’s final performance.
Most impressing with the sales numbers is that despite all of the pirated views of the film across torrent sites, the film just may make a fast and furious skid mark in revenue.
