A report of Westfeldt and another man is not true.
Despite speculation to the contrary, the couple of 16 years of Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt are doing well. They have refuted reports saying that, in the wake of Hamm’s recent adventures in rehabilitation from alcohol, that Westfeldt is involved with another man.
An article that recently appeared in In Touch magazine (not displayed on its web site) intimated that Westfeldt paid regular visits to a gentleman other than her husband while she was in Connecticut to visit Hamm at the Silver Hill Hospital psychiatric facility in New Canaan.
In a statement, a representative of the couple said that the article in In Touch “is not true” and that Jon was the only man Westfeldt “visited regularly” when he was in rehab. “They continue to ask for the public’s understanding and sensitivity during this challenging time.”
Referring to his battle against alcohol addiction, the 44 year-old star of the AMC’s popular television drama Mad Men said in late March that “Life throws a lot at you sometimes.” He says he’s been “very fortunate” to have “had a lot of family and friends support me.”
Hamm’s fame began in 2007 when he first appeared as the womanizing alcoholic Don Draper. The role brought a Golden Globe award to the actor in the next year. In all, Hamm has been nominated for eleven Emmys for his work on Mad Men, as well as on 30 Rock.
Ironically, Hamm’s character on the show is addicted to alcohol. One major entertainment web site referred to his situation as “a surreal case of life imitating art.” He talked a bit about playing his character and how it relates to his personal situation. He said that much discussion could “obviously” be had about “how much is related to that,” but he really doesn’t have much to say about it. Acting “can be a difficult endeavor,” he said, presenting its own challenges. “And so does life.”
