Rap star Iggy Azalea and pop star Britney Spears have finally teamed up for a song collaboration and they started shooting the music video this week. The song Pretty Girls will be featured on Britney’s upcoming album.
Based on photos that have been released the girls will be taking a trip down memory lane to the retro side of the 1980s. Iggy was photographed wearing denim shorts and a denim waistcoat while rocking crimped hair. In the photos she is sitting next to Britney in the back seat of a convertible.
Britney on the other hand, is wearing neon earrings, ripped up denim jeans, and a long sleeved leopard print crop top. The singer also tweeted a photo of herself wearing the same outfit but in the driver’s seat of a Jeep. She attached a quote that could possibly be lyrics from the song.
“Girls roll up/ windows roll down/ eyes on us/ jaws on the ground.”
A source told E News that the video has been shooting in Studio City California.
“They were having a really good time and seem to get along really well,” said the source.
Pretty Girls was actually supposed to be released already, and when asked about the date Britney responded with a lot of enthusiasm.
“You’ll have to wait and see. It’s really exciting, though. It’s very cool, I’ll say that…I saw [Iggy’s] song on TV and I was like a kid in a candy store. I was like, ‘I love Iggy!’ I was like, ‘I love that video. I wanna work with her.’ And it was really weird, because a week after that her manager was like, ‘She’s a huge fan of yours.’ I was like, ‘Let’s do something together,’ so it worked out,” she said.
Iggy admitted that the journey had been a long one.
“It was such a journey, that song. I got asked and it was her song, and then she didn’t think she would have her album done in time, and then I rewrote parts of it and it became my song, and I tried to make it all mine and keep it. Then she said, ‘No, no, I am going to take it, my album is ready. And so I swung it back her way because she’s Britney Spears, you have to do that. She gets whatever she wants.”
