They’re not gonna take it anymore: Twisted Sister calls it quits after 40 years together

Twisted Sister, most famous for their hit “We’re Not Gonna Take It”, has announced that they will disband after one last tour in 2016. The tour, appropriately named “Forty & F**k It” will mark then end of the band’s 40 year run.

A rep for the band told TMZ that the members decided on a farewell tour last month, only a week before drummer A.J. Pero passed away. Pero died on March 20, 2015 of a suspected heart attack. Pero joined the band as a drummer in 1982.

The lineup for the tour will include frontman Dee Snider, Jay Jay French, Eddie Ojeda, Mark Mendoza, and drummer Mike Portnoy, from Adrenaline Mob, who will fill in for Pero.

Prior to the tour the band will play two tribute shows for Pero at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on May 30 and the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ on June 13. The Las Vegas show will be taped for release in movie theaters, CD and DVD. The proceeds from the New Jersey show will go to Pero’s family.

Twisted Sister confirmed that they will still be performing all confirmed concerts for 2015. The band will perform at several rock festivals in Europe this summer.

Cities and dates for the 2016 farewell tour have not been announced.
