Jon Cryer has a new book out, So That Happened, and in it he shares some revealing insider gossip – including the fact he and Demi Moore were an item three decades before she married his “Two And A Half Men” costar Ashton Kutcher!
The 49-year-old actor met Moore in 1984, when the two were costars in the film No Small Affair, and they dated for a short time. As one might imagine, their past history might have set the stage for some awkward moments when Ashton Kutcher was later attending ‘chemistry meetings’ to see if he would make a suitable replacement for the loose-cannon star of “Two And A Half Men,” Charlie Sheen.
“How do I tell Ashton she and I dated when he was seven?” Cryer rhetorically posed the question during an interview on “Live! With Kelly and Michael.”
The part eventually did indeed go to Kutcher, the rest is TV history, and he never expressed any hard feelings about Cryer and Moore’s past romance.
“At the end he said, ‘She told me.’ He was cool about it,” Cryer continued.
The comic actor also had some memories to share of his time on the CBS hit show with Charlie Sheen, some fond, and some less so. Cryer initially refers to Sheen as a “great, friendly, witty colleague” during the first few seasons of the show, but admits that his unpredictability, unprovoked outbursts and bizarrely off-putting behavior eventually torpedoed any possibility of a positive working relationship.
“I’d spend my time trying to decide which was more disturbing: Sheen loaded or Sheen ‘sober,'” Cryer said, recalling Sheen’s final season on the show.
