Nicole Kidman faces criticism from flight attendants for endorsing misogynistic airline

The Association of Professional Flight Attendants is not happy with Nicole Kidman’s recent partnership with Etihad Airlines.

Nicole Kidman became the face of Etihad Airlines earlier this year, appearing in several print and short video advertisements promoting the luxury airline.

The Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) released an open letter, asking Kidman to rethink her partnership with the airline due to their “deplorable treatment of female employees.”

Laura Glading, the National President of the APFA, praised Kidman for her work as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador for women and urged her to reconsider working with the Etihad.

“Using your profile and stature for such a noble endeavor is commendable. However, we believe those efforts are at odds with your prominent role in an advertising campaign for Etihad Airways,” said Glading, “We urge you, on behalf of the women and girls that you spoke of so eloquently, not to play a part in promoting Etihad Airways, a company that imposes abusive labor practices on its female employees and whose sole owner is a government that stands against the very world that you imagine.”

Etihad denied the accusations from the APFA, stating to Arabian Business, “Our commitment to the welfare, safety, and well-being of the diverse group of men and women who have worked so hard to make Etihad Airways great is one of our airline’s top priorities.”

Nicole Kidman has yet to comment on the controversy.
