The talk show host goes into more detail about her weight.
Giuliana Rancic has often been the target of weight loss rumors. As a host for E! News, a fashion correspondent for E!’s “Fashion Police” and red carpet interviewer extraordinaire, she is often under scrutiny for her own appearance in the lime light.
An interview with People magazine reveals that the television personality understands that she is “too thin.” The E! News anchor’s thin physique has come to the attention of viewers, sending the Internet “abuzz with rumors of eating disorders – and worse.”
In particular, her slim appearance at the January 11th Golden Globes awards started a firestorm of negative attention, to which she has lately replied. Rancic, 40, maintains a healthy diet regimen; however, she admits that she has been taking cancer-suppressing medication that has had a drastic effect on her body. Obviously, according to this statement, her weight has been one of the areas that has been affected.
Hollywood has been known to take celebrities and scrutinize their weight, whether it is too much or too little. The watchful eye of the paparazzi and the frequent involvement of fans with stars has increased the level of intensity and conversation between stars and their fans.
Rancic went on to share with People that she “started noticing that she (I) was eating a lot, but not gaining weight at all.” She says that she was “concerned.”
After visiting with several health care professionals in the medical field, Giuliana determined, with the help of her doctor, Dr. Dev Paul of Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers in Denver, Colorado, that the drug “can alter metabolism” and “could cause weight loss.” His estimation was also shared in People magazine during her interview.
She adds in People, “It’s really hurtful…I’m sorry that some people think I’m disgustingly skinny, as they put it, but there’s nothing I can do. I’m lucky that I even have the type of cancer that reacts to the medicine.”
Perhaps the public will be a bit more understanding of the star, considering the effects her vital medicine appears to be having on her weight, as a side effect.
