Katy Perry is obsessed with shoes, carries 25 pairs everywhere: interview

The pop star has plenty of diva moments despite her down-to-earth personality, and revealed many of her quirks during a recent interview promoting a film about her tour.

Katy Perry is a little shoe-crazy: she carries an entire suitcase filled with just shoes when she goes on tour.

The pop star admits she’s a bit of a shoe fanatic and likes to have plenty of shoes at her disposal when she’s traveling around the world, packing at least 25 pairs per trip, she said in a Q&A with Mario Lopez for EPIX ahead of her concert film “Katy Perry: The Prismatic World Tour,” as reported by Bang Showbiz.

Although she takes 25, she doesn’t wear all of them: more like five pairs, usually slides and Uggs “like everyone else,” she said. But she does like to have the option to wear pretty much anything she wants.

Perry said she also has lots of specific demands for her rider, which she admits are “crazy.” In addition, she likes her room well-stocked with Pinot Grigio, pink and white flowers, and plenty of fruits and veggies.

A source also indicated that despite her down-to-earth persona on TV, she is every bit the diva when it comes to her demands. Also, she doesn’t like the staff speaking to her — especially not to ask for a photo or autograph, something that annoys here, although most celebrities likely feel the same way.

Katy Perry has become quite a hot commodity in recent years, with her numerous chart-topping singles, high-profile but short-lived relationship with Russell Brand, and her recent performance during the halftime show for the Super Bowl, which won accolades. Her debut studio album came all the way back in 2001 when she was still known as Katy Hudson, and focused on gospel records, but signed a deal with Capitol Records in 2007 when she was ready to get into secular music. Her big hit came in 2008 with the single, “I Kissed a Girl.”
