The Hollywood “it” couple debut their name choice for their baby girl. It’s James!

E! News reported exclusively in February that the couple didn’t name their daughter anything traditionally female, but that they names her James! The “Woman in Gold” actor confirmed the name choice on NBC’s Today in an interview with Willie Geist.

The interviewer asked the Green Lantern star, “So can we call her Anna at least – short for Anaconda?”, after the Canadian actor quipped that they were going to name her Excalibur Anaconda Reynolds.

Ryans confirmed to Geist that he and his gorgeous Gossip Girl gal decided to have a more unique choice. They led interviewers astray again when they suggested: “Butternut Squash.” He kept joking with reporters to have fun with the idea of what the name was going to be.

Business Insider went on to share that the couple, who welcomed their daughter in December, was “hesitant to share her name in the past, but Reynolds, explains his reasoning behind the big reveal.” He says, “I didn’t want to be the first guy screaming it out to the media. Because as we know, little girls turn into teenage girls and little teenage girls sometimes scan through archives and go, “Why did you do that?”

Thinking of his daughter in the future, that’s a very kind thing for this celebrity daddy to do for his baby girl. We’re sure future James Reynolds is happy her father is taking her into consideration, from the minute of her naming.

James denotes a feeling of Irish heritage and invokes a sense of maturity and grace. With parents as gracious and charming as Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, it’s no far off guess that she will grow up to be a lady who follows in their footsteps.
