Celine Dion took about a year off from her Las Vegas residency but it looks as though she can be expected back as early as August of this year. The 46 year old singer will reportedly be returning to the Caesars Palace Colosseum with a whole new act, which will come as great news to anyone who has already seen the last one.
The time off that Dion took between residencies was of a more serious note. In August of last year the singer decided to take the break to care for her husband René Angelil as he battled cancer and had a throat tumor removed.
Dion herself also had a health issue to deal with, when she got a sickness that caused inflammation to occur in her throat. Naturally throat inflammation for a singer is a serious complication.
At the time when Dion took time off it was very clear about what she needed to do.
“I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband’s healing, and to do so, it’s important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children. I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support.”
Luckily, the time seems right for Dion to get back out on the stage. The singer spoke to People Magazine about the intensity of her return.
“It is very emotional for me and I’m anticipating the emotions to grow even more as the date gets closer.”
She also expressed how much all of the support means to her.
“It’s very touching. Every night is a new show…I promise there will be high, happy notes.”
Dion and Angelil have three children together. She recently sat down with ABC news for an interview about her life and return to Las Vegas that will air on Good Morning America and Nightline next week.
