Bradley Cooper, 40, is back on the market again, after breaking up with longtime girlfriend, model Suki Waterhouse, 23. After two years of dating, the couple has decided to call it quits.
US Weekly explains that Cooper has kept very “busy since first being linked to Waterhouse, in March 2013.” The couple has experienced time apart, in addition to concentrated alone time, over the course of the two years; however, it seems that the industry itself has pulled the couple apart. A source told Us that the “pair have decided to take a break because of their busy schedules.” It’s difficult to maintain a relationship long distance, especially over long periods of time.
The Oscar-nominated star was often spotted at red carpet events with the British model as his date, bringing her to the 2014 Met Gala and the 2015 Oscars just this past February. As recent as last week, Waterhouse received a gracious flower delivery from Cooper during a phone interview with Us.
While Cooper has been filming blockbuster films, he has also been starring on Broadway in the latest production of The Elephant Man in New York City. He is also lined up to appear in Netflix’s reboot of Wet Hot American Summer later this year.
The couple have kept their relationship pretty private, throughout the course of their union; however, an insider shares that Cooper and she may have had differing views in terms of marriage and kids. During an interview with Elle UK in December 2013, Waterhouse confided that she would love to have kids and that she was aiming to warm Cooper up to the idea of marriage.
Cooper seems to disagree. The multi-talented actor, with his burgeoning career and continued ambitions on stage and on the big screen, has decided that it just isn’t the right time for him. If a couple is in disagreement over these developments, then, it appears that certain life goals need to be reached with other people.
“It’s up to Bradley to pop the question, of course, but she hopes it happens soon,” a source told Us, noting that Waterhouse often spent time with Cooper’s mother, Gloria, during his shooting schedule. “She wants Gloria to know she’s in the relationship for the right reasons.”
It’s unfortunate when a couple decides to call it quits and move on. This story seems to offer a happy ending for both parties, just maybe not with each other as the romantic leads.
