Disney announces the decision to make another 'Frozen' movie.
The votes are in!
Disney announced its plans on Thursday to release a new incarnation of the beloved Disney Princess movie that had every little girl braiding her hair to the side and belting the ubiquitous tune to “Let it Go.”
According to The Wall Street Journal, Chief Executive Robert Iger said, “Star Wars: Episode VIII” will be released on May 26, 2017 and that the latest installment of the movie “Frozen” was in the works.
Along with Iger, animation chief creative officer John Lasseter reported that directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee “have started work on a sequel to 2013’s “Frozen,” the highest grossing animated film of all time.” The movie raked in a phenomenal $1.3 billion at the box office and remains one of the company’s top consumer-products brands. Disney reports that it is even spawning new theme-park attractions.
Can you imagine how excited little ones (and big ones, alike) will be to see Elsa in “person” at a theme park? Or to have her own separate castle/ride/world?!
USA Today shares that the new Frozen Fever short features a brand new original song. Die hard fans are going gaga over the new song which is sure to be a hit. Making Today a Perfect Day includes a slight reference to the smash hit Let It Go. In the short, Elsa has an actual cold, making a joke about the frozen world she inhabits. When she sneezes in the song, Anna points out that she might be sick, to which Elsa replies, “I don’t get colds. Besides…the cold never bothered me anyway, “ a reference to the earlier song.
We’re sure this song and movie is going to be a sensational hit, just like the first. Disney sure knows a good thing when they’ve got it. Fans know it, too.
