Miller High Life guy and ‘Body of Proof’ star Windell Middlebrooks dies at 36

Actor Windell Middlebrooks, who was best known for his time as a delivery man on a series of Miller High Life commercials, died on Monday. He was 36.

The news of his death was confirmed by his family. His publicist Steve Ivey also confirmed it when he told the Associated Press that Middlebrooks passed away Monday. Although Middlebrooks’ cause of death is unknown, TMZ reported that there was no “foul play” involved, according to US Magazine. No other details on the cause of death have been released.

The Middlebrooks family released a statement to CBS News announcing the passing of “a young, black star.” The family said that “took his final bow and with great joy exited stage left” on March 9.

It also said that his wish was for his “final scene” not to be “lived on social media,” and the family asked for space during their time of mourning. Further details are expected to be released once the family has finalized their plans.

Many took to Twitter to express their condolences. Miller High Life posted a photo on their account of Middlebrooks standing with a Miller bus. The caption said that “the High Life lives on with you”  in their hearts.

Middlebrooks’ Suite Life on Deck co-star Debby Ryan called him a “light” to the show’s crew. She added that the cast will “love him forever.”
